How often do we count the years, months, weeks, days, or even seconds until an important event?
Â
We. Can’t. Wait!
Â
The Big Stuff. The Good Stuff.
Â
The vacation we spent a year planning.
The wedding.
The graduation.
The final mortgage payment.
Â
We circle the date, mark the calendar, and hold our breath. These are the Big Moments.
The ones we dream about, plan for, photograph, and share on social media.
Â
But have you ever noticed how quickly they pass?
Â
Like a runner sprinting through a daisy field, we sometimes barrel through those milestones, barely registering the beauty beneath our feet.
Â
Been there, done that.
Â
Before the tan lines from vacation even fade, we’re dreaming up the next getaway.
The wedding cake’s top layer hasn’t thawed for our first anniversary, and we’re already talking real estate or planning for children.
The degree hasn’t hit the frame, and we’re knee-deep in life's responsibilities.
The mortgage is finally gone, and the roof starts leaking.
Â
It’s not that these big days aren’t important. They definitely are!
But sometimes, the buildup overshadows the moment itself.
So, was the anticipation the main event? Perhaps.
Â
That’s why I’ve come to treasure the other kind of special days.
The quiet ones.
The unplanned ones.
The ordinary-seeming days that catch us off guard.
Â
The laughter in the kitchen.
The hug that lingers longer than usual.
The breeze that brushes your face just as you’re thinking of someone you love.
Â
These are the moments we don’t count down to, but we should always count.
The Divine in the Daily should always be acknowledged.
Here's to the small moments that make our one beautiful life worth living.
But we must pay VERY close attention because the best moments—the moments that get us through the night in our darkest hours—are too often wearing camouflage while they sneak into our daily lives,
